Rocco Forte Hotels: Villa Kennedy Frankfurt

Maybe you’ve already seen it on my Instagram or Snapchat. Two weeks ago I went to Frankfurt for a relaxed weekend getaway, that I had planned for my mum and me. Our little girls trip took place in the beautiful Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt, which belongs to the Rocco Forte Hotels.

The Villa Kennedy originally was called Villa Speyer and was built in 1901 as a residence for a banker’s family. Until the opening of the 5-star hotel in 2006, the building was extended and renovated. In the originally Villa part, you can now find the reception area, as well as the larger suites of the hotel. The Villa Kennedy is located close to the Museumsufer, which is my absolute favorite place in Frankfurt. The airport is only 10 minutes by car, which makes the hotel a popular place for business people. The historic vibe of the Villa Speyer and the new parts of the Villa Kennedy, makes the 5-star hotel a very special place with a quite and private ambience, right in the middle of the big finance metropolis.

The hotel got its name from one of the most famous presidents of the United States, John F. Kennedy. During his Frankfurt visit in 1963, he rode his way to the airport along today’s Kennedyallee. Personally, I love hotels with a historical touch. You can find a lot of beautiful photographs from John F. Kennedy and his life in the halls of the Villa Kennedy.

What I’ve already noticed in our first hours in the Villa Kennedy, is the friendly and warm atmosphere. The Villa is not similar to a normal hotel. One can either compare this place with a luxury and charming oasis. The Villa Kennedy offers a wonderful and peaceful ambience as well, as exclusive privacy. A stay here let you almost forget about the pulsing city outside.

The Villa Kennedy Spa

Talking about relaxation, I want to tell you about my absolute favorite place in the Villa Kennedy: The Rocco Forte Spa, which is located in the historical part of the house and consist of more than 1000m2 and four levels. What I especially like is the spa garden outside, in which I could spend hours, reading a good book and listening to the birds singing.

The Villa Spa includes 8 treatment rooms, a beauty salon, a steam bath, a whirlpool, a Finnish sauna, a yoga and pilates room, a gym with modern cardio and strength machines and a lovely relaxation room, that also offers healthy snacks, freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious ginger tea. To make a long story short: the spa has everything that you need for a super relaxed and enjoyable time.

Forte Organics cosmetic line

Just recently, Rocco Forte Hotels launched its own organic cosmetic line called Forte Organics. The collection of products was exclusively developed by Effegi Lab for Rocco Forte Spas. The products consist of the finest and most precious, organically grown ingredients from Sicily region. Some of the ingredients are harvested by hand in the Verdura Resort, which also belongs to the Rocco Forte Hotels.

In addition to organically grown olive oil from Verdura, the products also contain the juice of aloe vera, hibiscus extract, fine nut oils, plants, fruits and flowers, which are personally selected from the resort gardens by Irene Forte and Dr. Francessica Ferry. A very luxurious and soothing care range, which is also free of parabens and aggressive fragrances. You can find the products of the Forte Organic series in the Rocco Forte Spas and they are also available online. The prices start at 29,-€.

The Body Ritual Spa-Treatment

I had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy the body ritual treatment, which is conducted together with the cosmetic line Forte Organic. The treatment started with a foot bath in a large meditation sound bowl, which was filled with little apple pieces. During the pleasant footbath, my hands were massaged, which was incredibly soothing, since I spend the week before with a lot of typing on my laptop. The hand massage was followed by a refreshing and vitalizing apricot scrub. I just loved the mild scent of it. After showering, I got a rosehip body wrap, which was warm and very pleasant on my skin. While the body mask acted, I got a head and face massage. The final step and the absolute highlight was the full-body massage with lemon and mandarin oil. My skin was so smooth after the treatment and I felt super relaxed and zen!

In summary, our stay at the Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt couldn’t  have been more enjoyable. The stunning building, our cozy room, the excellent service, the delicious food and the amazing spa-experience were simply perfect. Anyone, who is planning an extraordinary and relaxed weekend should definitely consider a stay at the Villa Kennedy. Let yourself be inspired by the magnificent atmosphere and the gorgeous garden of this unique place!
